Air Duct Cleaning Owner Sponsors Event
Fraternities are social groups that form at colleges and at university campuses in the US, but they are also common in Canada and the Philippines. There are some European countries that have them, but they are not as common abroad.
Fraternities are exclusive groups, and once someone has been a member of a fraternity, they are considered to belong to it for life. Many fraternities do philanthropy with their graduates, or have ‘finishing’ training where they teach people who to dress and about good etiquette.
Some fraternities, however, have a bad name because they engage in hazing and treat their members poorly, and encourage poor behavior. Not all fraternities are like that, however, so it’s important that people understand the difference between the academic and influential ones, and the more party-focused ones. We had a local air duct cleaning company sponsor a fundraiser that helps stamp out hunger, and it turns out that he was Phi Kappa Alpha. Learning charity in college can benefit the rest of one’s life.
Fraternities can offer people a lifeline – a network of friends both in and out of education, and a chance to make new friends. Sororities for women offer a similar option, and there are some fraternities that are co-ed and that actively recruit from both genders, although this is comparatively rare. Fraternities and sororities are exempt from anti discrimination laws in the USA. Do they still have a place in modern society? Many believe that they do.
